Abu Ghusun
Reef with pinnacles and marine variety
Abu Ghusun
The reef consists of gentle sandy slopes dotted with coral bommies, creating natural pillars that shelter fish, crustaceans, and other invertebrates. Crabs, shrimps, lionfish, and groupers are commonly seen along the slopes and in the small overhangs. Deeper sections reaching 30 meters are home to larger predators and offer more challenging exploration. Sandy channels and micro-habitats between coral structures host rays, flatfish, and a wide array of macro organisms like nudibranchs and gobies. Currents are mild, allowing divers to move slowly and carefully observe the reef’s intricate life. The site is excellent for photography, macro observation, and peaceful reef exploration.
