Abu Sauatir is a stunning Red Sea dive site located 15 km north of El Quseir, Egypt. Known as the house reef for Pharaoh Dive Club, it is celebrated as one of the few locations in the region offering easy shore access directly from a sandy beach without needing to cross a sharp reef flat.

A special dive as this site is only accessible with occasional permission from the land owners, not often given. Within the confines of Hamerwain village, access is a long walk down to a fissure in the reef. Only for experienced divers with good mobility as access is limited.

Just to the north of the village of Hamerwain, Abu Hamra is access by dirt track and a short trek across the sands. The reward for the extra effort is very worthwhile with this secluded site offering stunning marine life focused around a series of pinnacles.

The first of the series of 3 closely linked sites just north of Hamerwain. As such Magbarit Somaya is often dived as a one way dive down from Bet Goha. The best of the site is its outer reef gardens that extend from Bet Goha. Direct entry and exit is through an enclosed cavern requiring a higher level of experience.

15km north of Pharaoh Dive Club are a series of three spectacular dive sites, it’s the hardest decision is which one to dive! Bet Goha is wonderful coral gardens interspersed with large protected lagoons.

Marsa Waleed is a quiet, remote dive site north of El Quseir, known for its pristine coral gardens, clear waters, and abundant marine life including turtles, eagle rays, and the shy resident Dugong. It offers shore entry dives with depths up to 40m, making it suitable for both recreational and advanced divers.

Not a site for those seeking an easy entry dive, to reach the start point for the dive is an 80m wade or snorkel, with the right tide. However, if you like canyons and caverns it’s well worth the effort! A good portion of the actual dive is winding your way along the canyons, exploring the side caverns just to reach the azure window out into the bay full of coral and marine life.

Nafag Rene is a not for the faint of heart, it is characterized by dramatic topography and subterranean architecture, making this site is famous for its intricate coral canyons, shallow tunnels, and overhead swim-throughs.

Undoubtedly one of the dive teams favourite dive sites offering endless variety of marine encounters in a pristine reef setting. El Makluf has something for every level of diver, an extensive shallow plateau jewelled with colourful ergs or the steep sloping reef down to 45m where the overhangs provide cover for resting white tip reef sharks.

Gasus Soraya is very easy access just a few steps from the kitting area, offering a large weathr protected bay making it an excellent choice for relaxed shore excursions or refresher dives. As you enter the water there is a smooth transition from a shallow beach entry into a vibrant ecosystem starting with a shallow, sandy flat covered in lush seagrass beds.

Located on the southern edge of Safaga, the Green Hole is a unique phenomenon along the El Quseir coast. The dive begins by entering through a shallow, large green natural hole in the reef top leading directly into an underwater canyon starting at 5m and dropping down to depths of 30 meters.

The Lighthouse marks the point of the headland to the south of Safaga and is the furthest north that we go for local daily dives. Although the headland is exposed the easy entry point is a small shallow lagoon to the leeward side of the headland.

Omar Sukan is a 15 minute RIB trip north from the harbour to the best drift dive in the region suitable for all levels of diver. It offers deep walls, stunning coral gardens and an endless plateau with frequent Eagle ray flying by. Some views, from certain spots, will simply take over breath away, stick with the guide or you may miss out!

Take the RIB to the far side of the old phosphate works and you will find the old anchor chain which leads down the Anemone metropolis of sprawling clumps of anemone and their accompanying Nemo residents. The site is a sharply sloping wall plunging to 60 plus metres but there is no need to go deep to visit the Nemos the centre of Nemo City is around 20 metres.

El Quseir is a historic port with records going back hundreds years, it formed part of the Silk Road. With such high traffic you might think there would be a lot of wrecks, well you will be disappointed, there aren’t! All that can be found at recreational depths is the spillage of cargo and damage to the reef from an impact. If you have an eye for a treasure hunt, you will find remnants such as Victorian radiators and ballast bricks. What else can you find?

Diving at Abu Dabbab is a beginner-friendly shore dive renowned for its vast seagrass meadows that attract spectacular marine megafauna. Characterized by its sheltered, crescent-shaped bay, the site virtually no current, and a gentle sandy slope ranging from 5 to 18 metres deep. This relaxed environment makes it a premier destination for long, easy bottom times.

A dive on the Salem Express is widely considered the most emotionally heavy, sombre, and controversial wreck dive in the Red Sea. Unlike older historic wrecks, this 115-meter-long passenger ferry sank relatively recently on December 15, 1991. A dive at Elphinstone Reef is a thrilling, world-class experience widely ranked among many as a top ten dive site globally. Located roughly 12 kilometres offshore, a short RIB ride, this cigar-shaped standalone reef stretches 400 metres long. It is famous for its dramatic sheer drop-offs descending past 100 meters, strong predictable and unpredictable currents. Because of the deep profiles, open-ocean drift conditions, and lack of shallow bails, a dive here is strictly reserved for advanced divers.
